Looking at target market groups for Ralph Lauren Daisy Jackson / 30/01/2023 When designing packaging and creating illustrations, it is always great to look into yoir target market groups. This way, you know what to produce and how to interest your chosen audience.  Because I am already looking at a luxury brand with various already distinguished target market groups, all I need to focus on is the product I am choosing as well as who is interested in sustainability.   I decided to google first who Ralph Lauren target their products towards. This is what the official page by Ralph Lauren said about their consumers: Judging from this, their consumers are upper-middle class to upper class. This generally means that the consumers have money to spare or have a LOT of money.  Because of this, when redesigning packaging, I need to think about who these individuals may be. Research task - Looking at packaging  Daisy Jackson / 27/01/2023 For our first research task set in class, we have been told to look at 5 illustrative, 5 sustainable and 5 luxurious packaging ideas. A downside to this packaging however, could be how flimsy it...

Researching into Ralph Lauren Daisy Jackson / 27/01/2023 As part of research, I am researching into Ralph Lauren. This is one out of the two brands I will be focusing on to redesign the packaging. Looking into Ralph Lauren origin and logo: This shows that Ralph Lauren was started due to the love Ralph Lauren had with sports. This brought out his passions in his own brand. This shows that the diea behind Ralph Lauren represents freedom, spirit, strength, loyalty and courage. This translates to the clothing and makes the consumers possibly feel more powerful when wearing the brand. To me this is also a way of showing higher prestige as when you are seen with expensive clothing, you feel more powerful and strong. Ralph Lauren offers a slightly cheaper alternative despite being a higher end luxury brand. Despite the luxury behind the brand, Ralph Lauren makes you want to be seen and feel more relaxed and casual. This contrasts and compliments the expensive materials used and the higher end...

Here is the mindmap for luxury: This task really allowed me to think deeper into what luxury is and what to consider for my packaging design. Here is my mindmap on sustainability:
